Suzy

I try to be very intentional about making this blog about Aidan and Aidan only, as it serves as somewhat a baby book for his life and as an important tool for keeping our friends and family who live away up-to-date on this life and development. That is why you will rarely see pictures of Aaron or I - it's really just meant to be all things Aidan.
All of that being said - this is Suzy. Suzy was a part of the Rebhan family whom I talk about and make mention often. Today, after 15 years of wonderful life Suzy passed. The reason I feel it so important to make mention of this life happening is because though he won't remember her Aidan will know of Suzy and her exceptional love, loyalty and commitment to her people. Every once in a while a dog comes along (less often then I think we appreciate) that even a non-dog person is amazed by, Suzy was that dog. She was calm and steady, loved unconditionally, excellent with young and old, resilient throughout life's changes and challenges, her whole life's purpose and happiness was wrapped up in her people, in her family.
People and animals enter our lives for a variety of reasons but always to teach us a lesson about life and about ourselves. The greatest lesson I learned from Suzy is to love and to be loved. I can only hope that Aidan will have a Suzy someday.

Special time with Daddy

As many of you know the last two months have been somewhat of a roller coaster with the unexpected hiccup in Aaron's job situation. Thankfully, United Health Group (Aaron's employer before Accretive whom he left just six months ago) has graciously welcomed him back. Though Aaron is mourning the loss for the opportunity that being with Accretive afforded him, we are grateful for the stability and certainty that United provides.

Aaron's final day with Accretive was Friday, June 15th and he doesn't start with United until Monday, July 16th. By doing this he is able to take advantage of a one-month paid severance, not to mention work on house projects, spend some extra-special time with our Little Man, and probably quite a bit of golfing.

Though I am jealous, who wouldn't be?! I'm so happy for him to have this time and there is no better time to have off when living in Minnesota. This picture is from this morning, I'm sure there will be many more in the month as they take on a variety of adventures together.

Crocs x3

I'll be honest. Over the years, every time I've come across a stray baby blanket, pacifier or sock I've thought to myself "Gosh, what inattentive parent could have missed this?". Yeah, then I became a parent. Let's just say I have a new found appreciation and this is the THIRD pair of Crocs we've had to purchase in just over three months. Somewhere along the way we've managed to loose one - just one, twice. Fingers crossed this pair makes it longer then a month.

Kung Fu Panda (the movie)

On Saturday morning while I was getting Aidan dressed for the day (upstairs) Aaron was flipping channels and came upon Kung Fu Panda (downstairs) and was insistent we see if Aidan would be interested (we don't typically "allow" him to watch television). As you can see he was quite intrigued.
An intense scene...

The good guys prevail!
